SARANPOLCHAN

Hi!​ My name is Saran Polchan (He/Him). I’m a Thai theatre director, writer, teacher, and performer based in Bangkok. I am passionate about creating bold, heartfelt, and inclusive stories that amplify underrepresented voices. Originally from Bangkok, Thailand, I grew up between two worlds: Thailand and the US (Texas, California, Florida, and Pennsylvania). I believe in the transformative power of storytelling to reflect the diversity of our world.  

 

My work focuses on bringing unheard narratives to the forefront with my distinct point-of-view as an immigrant and a Southeast Asian, shaping a theater landscape that is more thought-provoking, equitable, and truthful. I have a specific interest in international and multicultural stories. I am a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University’s BA Theatre Studies Program.
